ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest Held at NSU

The main contest and prize giving ceremony of "ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC)-2013" held at North South University (NSU) in Dhaka on 6th December.  This programming contest began at NSU on November 29, 2013 with the sponsorship of IBM ( International Business Machines Corporation, US).

110 teams from 58 public and private universities took participation in the main programming competition of ICPC 2013. 11 complicated problems were given to the young fellows to solve within a fixed time frame. By solving seven problems  within 860 minutes, team "Attoprottoyee" of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) grabbed championship, and team "Max+7" of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) became runner up by solving 7 problems within 915 minutes.

Ragib Ali, chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU trust was present as chief guest at the prize giving ceremony while Prof. Dr. Miftahur Rahman, dean of SEAS, Sazzad Rafique, director of Software Engineering, Therap Services, LLC and Shahazad Khan, CEO of Eyeball Networks, were present.

Next year the grand finale of ICPC, the most prestigious and glorious programming competition of the world will take place from 21-26 June in Russia. Champion  "Attoprottoyee" of SUST are going to directly participate in that prestigious programming competition. And runner up "Max+7" of BUET might get chance to participate through the wild card.

"ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest" is a great platform for the young programmer  and IT students, they can interact with their counterparts from around the world and prove their problem solving, programming, and teamwork skills
